If you are having trouble with your internet connection, either because it is slow or offline completely then there are a few troubleshooting steps you can try...

  1. Locate your router and turn it off for 30 seconds, after 30 seconds turn it back on and wait 2-3 minutes for the connection to re-establish
  2. Check if anyone is doing something which will affect performance - such as downloading large files like movies
  3. If you're connected via wifi try using a wired connection if possible to see if this helps
  4. Call your internet connection provider and discuss the issues, they may be able to test the line
  5. Ensure your router is well positioned, any of the following can affect performance
    1. Near other appliances which cause interference such as Microwaves
    2. Under, on top of or near other equipment - this can cause the router to overheat, ensure all vents on your router are clear and do not place it near other hot equipment
    3. Under desks, in cupboards, in metal cabinets etc - these can all cause performance issues with your wifi
